Disclose every award paid from county tax money that's handed to outside groups

Some county tax money goes to outside organizations — economic development corporations, nonprofits, districts — and once it leaves, the county's bidding and public-records rules may not follow it. We ask Cleburne County to post, for every dollar passed through: who received it, how much, what for, and what was promised in return. Public money should stay traceable all the way to the last receipt.

When it reaches the goal it’s handed to the officials named above at a public meeting, and their answer is posted online. This is a petition to your elected officials — like the clipboard at the courthouse door. It does not put anything on the ballot; in Arkansas and most states that takes ink signatures from registered voters. Names are never shown publicly.
